The annual Bookmark Competition organised by Gibraltar Cultural Services and the Gibraltar Dyslexia Support Group, attracted a total of 209 entries. The Minister for Culture, the Hon Prof Dr John Cortes, presented the awards on Monday 11th November 2019 at the Mario Finlayson Gallery, City Hall.

This year’s Christmas Festival of Lights, organised by the Gibraltar Cultural Services and the Gibraltar Electricity Authority, will be held at on Friday 22nd November 2019 at Casemates Square and the organisers invite everyone in Gibraltar to attend.
The United Kingdom and Gibraltar Governments have met in the 10th Joint Ministerial Council for Gibraltar. The meeting included the signature of two new Memoranda of Understanding between both Governments under which the UK has agreed to financially underwrite part of certain Brexit contingency projects in Gibraltar.

Local Charity No More Shame has said it is pleased that Parliament will soon be debating the terms of the referendum on introducing the Abortion Act which was passed in July of this year.
This morning the Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia spoke about Gibraltar and Brexit to students of Political Geography from University College London.
The Chief Minister, the Hon Fabian Picardo QC MP, visited the World Travel Market at the ExCeL London exhibition centre on Monday 4th November.

The Gibraltar National Archives (GNA) will hold an exhibition to celebrate the first 50 years of Archives in Gibraltar. The exhibition, at the Fine Arts Gallery, will be formally opened by the Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia on Monday 4 November.

On Thursday 28th November, the Convent will once again host its Christmas Fair. This annual event held in the historical setting of the Convent raises money for locally registered Charities.
Last week, His Worship the Mayor travelled to Ballymena to unveil a plaque to the 42 Gibraltarians who died during the time they were evacuated to Ballymena during World War 2.
The Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) will be opening an office in Gibraltar. This has been agreed in principle following discussions between CWEIC’s Chief Executive Alan Gemmell and Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia.
