‘Rio de la Miel’ Outing

The outing provided workers and young people with an opportunity to gel as a group and improve communication and respect with one another.

A group of members from the Dolphins Youth Club took part in an outing to ‘Rio de la

Miel,’ situated on the outskirts of Algeciras. The group which consisted of eight

young people and two workers spent the morning and afternoon walking on a track

alongside the river that gradually makes its way down the mountain.

The outing provided workers and young people with an opportunity to gel as a group

and improve communication and respect with one another.

Those who went on the outing had the opportunity to enjoy the area; free from urban

surroundings and experience something totally different in the company of friends.

Comments from those who took part were favourable, and a similar outing in the

forthcoming weeks is very much on the workers’ and young peoples’ minds. As

always club users will be given the opportunity to look at other options and work

jointly with the club’s workers and their peers to make this possible.

Dolphins Youth Club is ideally placed for young people living in the South District.
